How do I prepare for the BLS Course?To prepare for the course please read and study the BLS Student Manual paying particular attention to the critical concepts noted in red and the skills testing sheet on page 27 & 39. Your instructor will evaluate your performance based on the criteria found on these sheets. The AHA Summary of Steps of CPR for Adults, Children and Infants is located in the BLS folder under the documents tab.

How do I prepare for the ACLS Course?Before the course, please read the 2011 AHA ACLS Provider Manual and bring the manual to class with you for use and reference during the course. You will need to complete the Precourse self-assessment with a score of 80% or higher. Please print and bring to class with you or you will not be allowed to attend the course. Make sure you are proficient in BLS skills before attending the course. You need to present a current AHA BLS card in order to attend the course. If you need help in completeing these requirement please contact our office. You may purchase a self-directed online BLS course and demonstrate your skills during the ACLS course. During the course you must be able to identify and interpret rhythms during practice as well as during the final Megacode evaluation station. You must also know the drugs and doses used in the ACLS algorithms. You will also need to know when to use each drug based on the clinical situation. Pay particular attention to the critical conceptsboxes that appear in red in the 2011 AHA ACLS Provider Manual. These boxes contain the most important information that you must know. Also pay attention to the testing checklists in the Appendix. Your instructor will use these checklists to evaluate your skills. How do I prepare for the PALS Course?In order to prepare for the course you will need to complete the Precourse self-assessment with a score of 80% or higher. You may take the self-assessment multiple times. Please make sure you are proficient in BLS skills. A current American Heart Association BLS card is required in order to attend the class. We offer a self-directed online BLS course if you need to complete this requirement prior to class. Please read and study the 2011 AHA PALS Manual before the course, paying special attention to the skills testing sheets in the Appendix. Your instructor will evaluate your skills based on the criteria specified in the checklists. Please practice identifying and interpreting core ECG rhythms. If you have difficulty with pediatric rhythm identification please contact our office to inquire about our self-directed online course on rhythm recognition. Study basic pharmacology and know when to use which drug. The written exam is closed-book and you must score 84% or higher. How do I become a BLS, ACLS or PALS Instructor for HeartTraining, LLC?To become a BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Instructor with HeartTraining, LLC, follow these steps: 1. **Prerequisites:** Ensure you meet the necessary prerequisites for the instructor course. Typically, this includes current certification in the discipline you wish to teach (BLS, ACLS, or PALS) and some experience in healthcare or emergency response. 2. **Complete the Instructor Essentials Course:** Enroll in and complete the corresponding Instructor Essentials Course. HeartTraining, LLC offers online modules that are designed to prepare you for teaching these life-saving courses. This step is mandatory and includes essential teaching skills, classroom management, and course organization. 3. **Instructor-Led Training:** After completing the online component, participate in an instructor-led training session. My hospital or facility is interested in becoming a Training Site under HeartTraining, LLC. What do I need to do?"The first step is to submit a Training Site Application and Administrative Self-Review. A Training Site fee will be assessed and is renewable every two years pending successful monitoring every 6 months by our Training Center Coordinator or one of our Training Center Faculty members. Once the self-review is submitted a member of our staff will contact you to arrange an initial interview. We do require a non-refundable $100 application fee.

Not sure my hospital or facility is interested in becoming a Training Site. What is another option for training our staff.We can provide onsite training for your staff at your facility. Please provide the number of students you wish to train, which discipline and how many classes you wish to offer in a 12 month period. HeartTraining, LLC will invoice at Net 30. We will provide the course completion cards, textbooks and the discipline specific instructors. All we need is a room large enough for 12 students and two break-out rooms large enough for 6 students to conduct the course. A minimum of 6 per class is required for us to conduct an onsite course. We will also require a secure location to store our equipment when class is not in session.

If you need to withdraw from a course, refunds are available up to 14 days after the course start date, provided less than 25% of the course material has been accessed. How do I access the precourse modules for my ENA course?You must schedule a skills evaluation in order to access your required precourse modules. Please visit www.HeartTraining.com and select schedule an appointment. When you receive an email from the ENA to register, please choose Challenger RN as the course type.
