Is a HeartTraining AHA course completion card accepted by hospitals and employers?

Yes. We are an AHA-authorized training center, and our AHA course completion cards meet AHA requirements accepted by hospitals and employers nationwide.

How long is my AHA course completion card valid?

Two years. AHA course completion cards expire on the last day of the issue month two years out. An AHA course completion card issued January 5, 2026 expires January 31, 2028.

How long is a CPR class?

Most in-person courses run two to four hours depending on the level. BLS runs about four to five hours, and Heartsaver CPR AED about two to three. You receive your AHA course completion card the same day you pass.

Does online coursework alone meet hospital requirements?

No. Every AHA course requires a hands-on skills session to receive your AHA course completion card. Online-only programs cannot issue one on their own. Blended and HeartCode courses pair the online lessons with that required skills session.

What is the difference between Classroom, Blended and Self-Guided?

Classroom is the full course in person at our Overland Park location. Blended Learning (HeartCode) is self-paced online coursework followed by a short hands-on skills session. Self-Guided uses a CPR Verification Station, where you complete the online portion and then validate your skills with virtual support from a live instructor. All three meet AHA requirements and result in the same AHA course completion card.

AHA-Authorized Training Center

As an American Heart Association Authorized Training Center, every course follows current AHA guidelines, and the course completion cards you earn are accepted by hospitals, employers, and licensing boards across the country nationwide.

Same-Day AHA Course Completion Card

When you successfully complete your skills session, your official AHA course completion card is issued the same day — no waiting for a card in the mail. It stays valid for two years, so you walk out credentialed and ready to meet your requirement.

Instructor Support

A live AHA instructor calls to greet you and provide instructions for your skills session at all CPR Verification Stations locations. Instructor support is available either by phone or a Zoom call throughout the entire skill session.
